Associate Partner – Transport Planning

We are seeking an Associate Partner to take a senior leadership role within the practice, driving complex project delivery, strengthening client relationships, and contributing to the strategic growth and reputation of the business.

The role

As an Associate Partner, you will lead the delivery of large scale, complex transport planning projects, providing strategic direction and expert advice across a portfolio of work. You will act as a trusted advisor to clients, manage and influence key stakeholder relationships, and play an active role in shaping the practice’s future direction.

This role represents a significant leadership step, combining technical excellence, commercial awareness, and the ability to influence both projects and wider business outcomes.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading and overseeing large, complex transport planning projects across multiple workstreams
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to clients and stakeholders, providing clear, strategic guidance
  • Managing client relationships and representing the consultancy in senior meetings and negotiations
  • Identifying and managing project risks, ensuring successful delivery across technical and commercial aspects
  • Supporting and guiding teams, providing leadership, mentoring, and troubleshooting support
  • Contributing to business development, securing work, and building a strong client portfolio
  • Supporting wider practice initiatives, strategy, and operational improvement
  • Representing the consultancy externally through professional networks, events, and thought leadership

About you

You will be a highly experienced transport planner with a strong track record of delivering complex projects and building trusted client relationships. You’ll bring leadership, confidence, and commercial awareness, with the ability to influence outcomes at both project and business level.

You will have:

  • Extensive experience in development related transport planning
  • Proven expertise in leading large, complex projects and managing multiple stakeholders
  • Strong client relationship management and advisory experience
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
  • Commercial awareness and a track record in business development
  • Chartered status with a relevant professional body

Experience in expert witness work and contributing to strategic business initiatives would be advantageous.
