Paul Whitaker

Director

About

Paul is a Director with over 18 years’ experience in transport planning and engineering across both the public and private sectors. He specialises in development planning, supporting projects from early feasibility through to planning approval and delivery.

His experience spans residential, retail, industrial and infrastructure schemes, advising on transport assessments, environmental impact, consultation and planning negotiations. Paul brings a strong understanding of both planning and engineering, helping to shape practical, deliverable solutions.

He is also actively involved in mentoring and knowledge sharing, supporting the next generation of professionals while delivering clear, reliable advice to clients.

Jayne Meyrick

Jayne is an Associate Partner with over 20 years’ experience in transport planning across the UK. She specialises in sustainable transport strategy, placemaking and the assessment of development impacts across a wide range of sectors.

She has led transport input on major regeneration schemes, bringing a clear understanding of how transport shapes successful places. Jayne is also actively involved in shaping industry best practice, co-chairing the national Fixing Transport Assessments Working Group and contributing to Active Travel England initiatives.

Known for her strategic thinking and collaborative approach, she provides clear, forward-looking advice that supports both development and wider community outcomes.

Steve Eggleston

Steve Eggleston is a highly experienced transport planning professional and Partner at i‑Transport LLP, based in Manchester and Leeds. He holds BSc (Hons) and BEng (Hons) degrees in Civil Engineering and is a member of both the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.

With over 30 years’ experience, Steve has led the transport planning and technical delivery of major residential, commercial and infrastructure projects across the UK. He regularly acts for clients on a range of major development proposals, overseeing technical strategy, stakeholder engagement and planning submissions, and has extensive experience as an expert witness at planning inquiries and Examinations in Public. His portfolio includes large‑scale mixed‑use developments, strategic housing sites, motorway service areas and major employment schemes for leading national developers, housebuilders and landowners. Steve is recognised for his pragmatic, solutions‑focused approach and his ability to guide complex schemes through the planning process.

Pete is a Director in i-Transport’s Manchester office. He is a Chartered Engineer with almost 25 years’ experience of providing extensive and wide-ranging transport advice to deliver positive outcomes for private and public sector clients on major regeneration and redevelopment sites across the North. His experience covers a broad range of development projects with particular expertise in the assessment of large scale masterplans, strategic transport studies and complex urban transport projects.

Muhammad Shafay

Assistant Technician

About

Muhammad has a background in Structural Engineering and studied at Bury College. He has nearly a year of highway design and transport planning experience and primarily supports the preparation of technical work across a wide range of projects. His experience includes contributing to highway design, site layout reviews, site access drawings, geometry drawings, swept path analysis and has contributed to traffic assessment work and sustainability appraisals.

He has experience working with software such as CAD and GIS. He has worked on a number of projects across the country, developing strong technical and problem-solving skills. He takes pride in producing clear, accurate drawings and presenting his work to a high standard. He is passionate about design and has an interest in providing attractive, safe and sustainable developments “

He advises on major development projects across the UK, specialising in strategic residential and commercial schemes. Mark is known for developing clear transport strategies for complex sites and leading negotiations with local authorities and National Highways.

With a long track record of successful projects, he provides strategic leadership to both clients and the business, helping shape developments that are deliverable, sustainable and commercially successful.
